Sarà sicuramente stato complice lo stato di alterazione provocato dal sonno arretrato, ma quando ho ascoltato per la prima volta questo disco, ed in particolare la ballatona Spiders, verso l'una di notte, ho avuto i brividi ascoltando questo pezzo tutto sommato prevedibile, una (come detto) ballata pop solo leggermente asimmetrica (caratteristica principale della giovane cantante e compositrice originaria di Londra, UK), ma cantata con una urgenza devastante, con un crescendo di tonalità davvero impressionante. Il resto conferma il talento immenso di Lola Emily Mary Young, solo leggerissimamente più dentro gli schemi con i brani di questo album, rispetto al precedente.
The altered state brought on by lack of sleep must have played a part, but when I first listened to this album, and in particular the ballad "Spiders," around 1 a.m., I got chills listening to this otherwise predictable piece, a (as mentioned) slightly asymmetrical pop ballad (a key characteristic of the young singer and songwriter from London, UK), but sung with devastating urgency, with a truly impressive crescendo of tones. The rest confirms Lola Emily Mary Young's immense talent, with the songs on this album only slightly more within the norm than on her previous one.
