Al dodicesimo album, Zakk Wylde e i suoi Black Label Society ci ricordano dove dovremmo rivolgere il malinconico sguardo tutti noi, "orfani" dei Black Sabbath e di Ozzy Osbourne. So che sono ripetitivo, e persino palloso, ma il modo di cantare di Zakk deve tutto al Prince of Darkness, mentre i suoi riff, ripetiamolo, tra i migliori dell'heavy metal, devono moltissimo allo stile di Toni Iommi. On their twelfth album, Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society remind us where we, "orphans" of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, should be looking with melancholy. I know I'm being repetitive, even boring, but Zakk's singing owes everything to the Prince of Darkness, while his riffs, let's repeat, among the best in heavy metal, owe a lot to Toni Iommi's style. Wylde, who writes all the songs, has refined his songwriting; he has a couple of recurring standards (the mid-tempo pieces and the ballads), and they work. If you put it on and turn up the volume, it works.
