Qualche tempo fa, per fare l'anticonformista, dichiaravo che la mia preferita delle Destiny's Child era Michelle. Un giorno mi sono reso conto che non avevo mai ascoltato niente di suo da solista. Adesso che l'ho fatto, recuperando questo suo (per adesso) ultimo album, risalente al 2014, capisco anche perché. Il disco, che curiosamente è catalogato come contemporary gospel, oltre che R&B, è un ricettacolo di canzoni insulse, prevedibili, deboli, che non hanno davvero niente di gospel (la definizione evidentemente si riferisce solo alle tematiche dei testi), poco pure di R&B, con solamente qualche ritornello indovinato, ma niente di più. Una delusione tremenda.
Some time ago, to do the maverick, I declared that my favorite of Destiny's Child was Michelle. One day I realized that I had never heard anything about her solo works. Now that I did it, recovering this her (for now) last album, dating back to 2014, I understand why. The album, which curiously is listed as contemporary gospel, as well as R&B, is a receptacle of poor songs, predictable, weak, who do not really have anything gospel (the definition clearly refers only to the lyrics themes), and even nor with R&B, with only a few chorus guessed, but nothing more. A tremendous disappointment.
