The Book of

The Leftovers - di Damon Lindelof e Tom Perrotta - Stagione 3 (8 episodi; HBO) - 2017

And so, "The Leftovers" definitely leaves us with this third season, which Variety's Chief TV Critic Maureen Ryan described as "spectacular, in every sense of that word." Everyone is free to have their own opinion, and mine definitely coincides with the US critic: "The Leftovers", which for three seasons seemed to me to be a sort of "Twin Peaks" less hermetic but definitely oriented to reflection on the sense of the existence, with comprehensible metaphors (if you want to do it) and a beautifully guided cast (by people who know their job: as still Ryan says, who knew who Carrie Coon was - Nora - before "The Leftovers"?), and that in the finale he reminded us very strongly the finale of the unforgettable "Six Feet Under", was a brief but intense, that was splendidly direct, cinematographed, interpreted, written, and that had superlative music, that took us by the hand asking us for an enormous suspension of disbelief, re-paying us with some hours of fun, reflection and emotion at very high intensity. We will miss a lot, and already watching the third series of "Fargo" (where Carrie Coon plays a part), henceforth it will be impossible to separate the two prominent actors (Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux / Kevin) from the characters they played in "The Leftovers". A big "thank you" is the least we can say.
