Faccio un'altra ammenda per non aver mai parlato, su questo blog, della storica e seminale band di Los Angeles, California, attiva fin dal 1980, e parto subito dicendovi che, al netto di tutte le nuove tendenze, della continua ricerca di intriganti crossover che mettano insieme rock pesante a cose lontanissime, mentre ascoltavo ripetutamente questo diciassettesimo disco dei Bad Religion, mi sono commosso. Così come ebbi a dire parlandovi dei loro pargoli (seguaci, nipoti, figli, eredi, fate voi) Rise Against, c'è qualcosa di puro nella musica e nelle canzoni dei BR, seppure autori di una formula che è praticamente sempre la stessa, ed è la purezza delle idee, la costanza di scrivere ancora oggi, testi che parlano alla testa e al cuore, e di mettere sempre prima di tutto l'impegno sociale, suonando musica divertente. Giù il cappello.
