Un passo indietro al 2018, per parlarvi del terzo disco di questa band originaria di Reading, Pennsylvania, che a settembre prossimo saranno in Italia per una data milanese. Ascoltati per pura curiosità (ho deciso di andare a vederli per una delle band che saranno di supporto, i danesi Mol), mi hanno decisamente impressionato. Autori di un progressive death metal decisamente tecnico, su questo disco osano davvero molto, introducendo soli di sax (suonato da Zach Strouse), trombe, violoncello e voci femminili. Tracce spesso piuttosto lunghe, complesse, elaborate, ma assolutamente convincenti, con una coniugazione squisita di tecnica e potenza. Molto interessanti.
A step back to 2018, to tell you about the third record of this band originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, which in September will be in Italy for a live in Milan. Listened out of pure curiosity (I decided to go see them for one of the bands that will be there as guest, the Danish Mol), they definitely impressed me. Authors of a decidedly technical progressive death metal, on this record they really dare a lot, introducing sax solo (played by Zach Strouse), trumpets, cello and female vocals. Tracks often quite long, complex, elaborate, but absolutely convincing, with an exquisite combination of technique and power. Very interesting.
