Quinto disco, questo omonimo per la band di North Muskegon (Grand Rapids), Michigan, band voluta e capitanata dal cantante Leigh Kakaty. Disco piacevole, un genere "misto" che non può non piacere ad orecchie da sempre abituate al rock, cresciute passando dal metal, attraverso il grunge, strizzando l'occhio all'hip-hop e cercando di rimanere al passo con i tempi, quindi abituandosi all'elettronica. Non sto parlando (solo) di me, ma delle influenze che si possono facilmente individuare nel suono dei Pop Evil, nelle cui note si possono riconoscere RATM, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots e via discorrendo. Kakaty ha una voce adatta e abbastanza flessibile, e le melodie sono sempre accattivanti. Detto questo, niente di nuovo.
Fifth record, this namesake for the band of North Muskegon (Grand Rapids), Michigan, band wanted and captained by singer Leigh Kakaty. Pleasant disc, a "mixed" genre that can not but please ears that have always been used to rock, grown up through metal, through grunge, winking at hip-hop and trying to keep up with the times, so getting used to electronics. I'm not talking (only) about myself, but about the influences that can easily be found in the sound of Pop Evil, in whose notes we can recognize RATM, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and so on. Kakaty has a suitable and quite flexible voice, and the melodies are always captivating. That being said, nothing new.
