A parte il massimo rispetto che va portato a Justin Timberlake per aver impalmato Jessica Biel, riassumendo molto sinteticamente il mio giudizio su questo suo quinto disco come ha fatto rivolgendomi ad un'amica che mi solleticava in proposito, non è esattamente il mio genere, ma c'è da dire che il ragazzo ci prova in maniera seria. Di certo non è rimasto fermo ai tempi degli NSYNC, e neppure a quelli del suo debutto solista Justified, che pure, ricordiamocelo, conteneva quella Like I Love You, che fu reinterpretata dai Dillinger Escape Plan nel loro Plagiarism. Consueto stuolo di collaboratori (Pharrell e Chad Hugo, Timbaland, J-Roc, Danja, e altri emergenti), un paio di partecipazioni degne di nota (Alicia Keys su Morning Light, Chris Stapleton su Say Something), un suono che parte dall'RNB più pop, provando ad inglobare elementi sia di elettronica che di americana. Qualche picco positivo, una media non eccezionale, e una sensibilità quasi funky, interessante per un caucasico. Manca, però, ancora qualcosa per arrivare ai livelli di Bon Iver o James Blake.
Apart from the utmost respect that must be brought to Justin Timberlake to be married Jessica Biel, summarizing very briefly my judgment on this fifth album as I did by addressing a friend who tickled me about it, it is not exactly my gender, but it must be said that the boy tries in a serious way. He certainly did not stand still in the days of the NSYNC, nor even those of his solo debut Justified, which also, let's remember this, contained that Like I Love You, which was reinterpreted by the Dillinger Escape Plan in their Plagiarism. Usual crowd of collaborators (Pharrell and Chad Hugo, Timbaland, J-Roc, Danja, and other emerging), a couple of noteworthy participations (Alicia Keys on Morning Light, Chris Stapleton on Say Something), a sound that starts from RNB more pop, trying to incorporate both electronic and Americana elements. Some positive peak, an average not exceptional, and an almost funky sensitivity, interesting for a Caucasian. However, there is still some work to do to get to the levels of Bon Iver or James Blake.
