Chi mi conosce bene sa che non mi hanno mai convinto. Pitchfork a questo giro dice che, siccome ormai non sono più rilevanti, non hanno più il fardello della best next big thing del Regno Unito, si lasciano andare ad un disco elegante e accattivante. A me continuano a non convincere, continuano a sembrare esageratamente supponenti, a non avere quel dono di songwriting e sintesi, come ad esempio, gli Arctic Monkeys, che pure si sono persi per strada in quanto a supponenza e son stati bravi a complicarsi la vita. Chi riesce a spiegarmi il senso di un pezzo quale Huck and Jim? Sicuramente sono prevenuto (ma non so assolutamente spiegarvi il perché), ma a me anche questo quinto disco dei Franz Ferdinand pare un disco venuto male.
Those who know me well know that they have never convinced me. Pitchfork on this album says that since they are no longer relevant, they no longer have the burden of the best next big thing in the UK, they let themselves go to an elegant and captivating record. I am still not convinced, they continue to seem overwhelmingly cocky, not to have that gift of songwriting and synthesis, such as, the Arctic Monkeys, who also got lost on the road as to arrogance and were good at complicating their own life . Who can explain the sense of a track like Huck and Jim? Surely I am prevented (but I can not quite explain why), but to me also this fifth record of Franz Ferdinand seems a work badly came out.
