Giudizio sintetico: si può perdere (2/5)
Gli ultimi anni della vita di Vincent Van Gogh, e la sua amicizia con Paul Gauguin.
Probabilmente ero molto stanco, la sera della visione, ma non si può negare che Schnabel può essere un regista geniale, ma anche molto palloso. A mio modestissimo parere, questo film rientra nella seconda categoria, e neppure un Willem Dafoe in buona forma (ma, sempre a mio giudizio, non da Oscar, e le ali gliele tarpa un film noiosissimo ed esageratamente concettuale), insieme ad un cast di tutto rispetto, riesce a salvare At Eternity's Gate dalla noia totale.
Probably I was very tired, the night of the vision, but it cannot be denied that Schnabel can be a genius director, but also very boring. In my humble opinion, this film falls into the second category, and not even a Willem Dafoe in good shape (but, again in my opinion, not Oscar-worthy, and his wings are cutted by a very boring and exaggeratedly conceptual film), together with a cast of all respect, manages to save At Eternity's Gate from total boredom.
