Eccoci qua a parlare nuovamente dei Radio Moscow, quinto disco in studio, intervallati negli ultimi anni da un disco live e una raccolta di demo. La band sembra ormai stabile dal 2013, con Anthony Meier al basso e Paul Marrone alla batteria, come già detto in passato, degni musicisti di un fenomeno come Parker Griggs, voce, chitarra, fondatore della band stessa. I dischi dei Radio Moscow rischiano di diventare dei guilty pleasures, per il fatto che non si vede nessuna voglia di modificare il loro stile, di inserire qualche altro genere, di cambiare direzione. E' evidente l'amore viscerale che li lega all'hard rock degli anni '70, la loro voglia di riprodurlo quasi pedissequamente, la gioia che fornisce loro il suonare questo genere, la volontà di scrivere "solamente" buone canzoni su quella falsariga, suonate divinamente. Niente altro da aggiungere, piacevolissimi come sempre, un tuffo nel passato.
Here we are again talking about Radio Moscow, the fifth studio album, which has been interwoven in recent years by a live record and a demo collection. The band seems to have been stable since 2013, with Anthony Meier on bass and Paul Marrone on drums, as mentioned in the past, worthy musicians of a phenomenon like Parker Griggs, voice, guitar, founder of the band itself. The Radio Moscow albums are likely to become guilty pleasures, because they do not see any desire to change their style, to insert some other genre, to change direction. It is evident the visceral love that links them to the hard rock of the 1970s, their desire to reproduce it almost slavishly, the joy that gives them the sound of this genre, the will to write "only" good songs on that style, playing divinely. Nothing more to add, as pleasant as ever, a dive in the past.
