Diciassettesimo disco per la band di Toronto, Ontario (Canada), mai dimenticata dagli headbangers della prima ora (come chi vi scrive), e che hanno conosciuto una seconda giovinezza anche grazie al meraviglioso documentario del 2008, che ha raccontato le loro vicissitudini. Nonostante la band sia attiva ormai da 40 anni, la loro dedizione al genere è quasi commovente, e anche questo disco si lascia ascoltare senza annoiare. Vengono in mente spesso i Motorhead, e si ripensa a tutte quelle altre band che hanno preso ispirazione dagli Anvil, e hanno fatto la storia. Si perdona loro la prevedibilità, e si augura loro una vita ancora lunga, ed almeno i soldi per una vecchiaia dignitosa. Certo è che la tecnica sia di Robb Robbo Reiner alla batteria, e di Steve Lips Kudlow alla chitarra, è ancora invidiabile. Molto buono l'apporto del bassista Chris Robertson, con gli Anvil dal 2014.
Seventeenth album for the band of Toronto, Ontario (Canada), never forgotten from the headbangers of the first hour (as me), who are living a second youth thanks to the wonderful documentary of 2008 (Anvil! The Story of Anvil), which recounted their vicissitudes. Although the band has been active for 40 years now, their dedication to the genre is almost touching, and even this record lets you listen without boring. It pop up to your mind the Motorhead, and you think back to all the other bands that took inspiration from Anvil, and made history. Predictability is forgiven them, and we wish them a long life, and at least the money for a dignified old age. Certainly the technique of both Robb Robbo Reiner on drums, and Steve Lips Kudlow on guitar, is still enviable. Very good the contribution of bassist Chris Robertson, with Anvil since 2014.
