Il terzo disco della 38enne di Twickenham si preannuncia come uno dei più belli di questo 2018 fin dal pezzo di apertura, As a Man. Ascoltando Anna Calvi si percepisce cosa vuol dire amare la musica, in tutte le sue sfaccettature, si comprende che questa persona ne ha ascoltata di ogni genere, e che nonostante due dischi bellissimi alle spalle, continua a lavorare sul tentativo, spesso riuscito, di comporre belle canzoni che racchiudano, appunto, una tavolozza il più possibile larga di influenze. Considerando che molto di questo amore e interesse per tutti i generi è dovuto all'influenza del padre italiano, che l'ha "esposta" alla musica fin da piccolissima, potremmo, più che farcene motivo di vanto, riflettere su quello che potremmo essere, ma questo è tutto un altro discorso. Tornando ad Hunter, chiudo immediatamente il discorso, perché è inutile che prosegua: è un disco che va ascoltato, dal quale lasciarsi rapire. E' bellezza allo stato puro, musicale, e forse anche qualcosa di più. 



The third album of Twickenham's 38 year old singer/guitarist, promises to be one of the most beautiful of this 2018 since the opening track, As a Man. Listening to Anna Calvi you perceive what it means to love music, in all its facets, it is understood that this person she has heard music of all sorts, and that despite two beautiful records behind her, she continues to work on the attempt, often successful, to compose beautiful songs that enclose, in fact, a palette as wide as possible of influences. Considering that much of this love and interest for all kinds is due to the influence of the Italian father, who has "exposed" her to music since she was a child, we could, rather than make it a source of pride, reflect on what we could be, but this is a whole other matter. Returning to Hunter, I immediately close the speech, because it is useless to continue: it is a record that must be listened to, from which to be abducted. It is pure beauty, musical, and maybe even something more.
