Altra colpevole mancanza del sottoscritto, era quella di non conoscere per niente i Marylander Clutch, che hanno la particolarità di essere assieme dal 1991 con la stessa formazione, quattro compagni di scuola nonché concittadini. Siamo di fronte al loro (pensate) dodicesimo album da studio, un disco massiccio, fatto di un hard rock che definire stoner sarebbe riduttivo. Immaginatevi dei Queens of the Stone Age senza velleità di modernismo o di classifica, che ogni tanto si ricordano di pagare il loro tributo ai Black Sabbath. Sanno scrivere canzoni che ti arrivano dritte in faccia, e scrivono testi mai scontati (Emily Dickinson, How To Shake Hands). Non hanno paura di guardare al di là dell'hard rock (In Walks Barbarella), insomma, davvero bravi, davvero un bel disco ruock.
Another guilty fault of the undersigned, was that of not knowing at all the Marylander Clutch, who have the distinction of being together since 1991 with the same training, four classmates as well as fellow citizens. We are facing their (think about it) twelfth studio album, a solid album, made of a hard rock that define stoner would be reductive. Imagine the Queens of the Stone Age with no ambitions for modernism or rankings, which sometimes remember to pay their Black Sabbath tribute. They know how to write songs that come straight to your face, and write texts that are never obvious (Emily Dickinson, How To Shake Hands). They are not afraid to look beyond hard rock (In Walks Barbarella), in short, they are really good, and this is really a good ruock record.
