Ana Popovic è una chitarrista blues, nonché cantante, nata a Belgrado, Serbia, 42 anni fa, che dopo anni di tour in Europa, si è accasata negli US. Introdotta al blues dal padre Milutin/Milton (con il quale ha inciso un disco, Blue Room, nel 2015), questo è il suo ottavo disco in studio da solista, per il quale si avvale delle collaborazioni prestigiose di Keb' Mo' (anche produttore e co-compositore di quasi tutte le tracce del disco, insieme alla Popovic), Robben Ford e Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Tecnica impeccabile e voce adatta, il disco è piacevole ed alterna standard blues con spruzzate di funk e soul, canzoni convincenti ad altre molto più scontate.
Ana Popovic is a blues guitarist, as well as a singer, born in Belgrade, Serbia, 42 years ago, who after years of touring in Europe, has settled in the US. Introduced to the blues by her father Milutin / Milton (with whom she recorded an album, Blue Room, in 2015), this is her eighth solo album in studio, for which she makes use of the prestigious collaborations of Keb' Mo' (also producer and co-songwriter of almost all tracks on the record, along with Popovic), Robben Ford and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Impeccable technique and appropriate voice, the album is pleasant and alternates blues standards with splashes of funk and soul, songs convincing to others much more obvious.
