No pain. The world is a wonderful whisper for those who can listen, if necessary in silence.

Before the Dawn - Kate Bush (2016)

In late November last year, it came out a strange album: a live by the unforgettable Kate Bush. Triple disc, was recorded during the residency of Bush at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, 22 dates that were held from 26 August to 1 October 2014, after an absence from the scene lasted 35 years. The concert series must have been impressive: a multimedia performance made not only by live music, but by dancers, puppets, shadow play, maskwork, conceptual staging, 3D animation and illusionists. The album, in addition to being a sort of enormous Greatest Hits of a permanent and fundamental voice of the pop-rock world scene, tries to make live this experience even to those who have not experienced it, and I must tell you that, despite of an initial diffidence, the struggle to "enter" the best mode, and some vocal deburring, the album has a remarkable evocative power, and gives some highlights, not least, apart from the extraordinary songs, a spoken word performance by Kevin Doyle (the bumbling Molesley in Downton Abbey) on the intro "Astronomer's Call" of the disc 2 (recognized without the accompanying booklet).
