Mi piace la conclusione della rece di Stuart Berman sull'ultimo disco dei Rolling Stones: "On its own modest terms, Blue & Lonesome offers promising proof the Stones can still be a band instead of a brand" (ci arrivate anche da soli, ma più o meno "nei suoi modesti termini, Blue & Lonesome offre una prova promettente che gli Stones possono ancora essere una band anziché un marchio").
Uscito nel dicembre del 2016, Blue & Lonesome è il 25esimo disco della band inglese, è un disco composto interamente di cover, e segue di 11 anni il precedente disco in studio A Bigger Bang. Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Johnson, Magic Sam, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Little Johnny Taylor, Lightnin' Slim. Blues di quello antichissimo, proprio alle radici della musica del diavolo. Pochi collaboratori, Eric Clapton guest alla chitarra su un paio di pezzi, registrato in tre giorni. Disco che non smettereste di ascoltare.
