Dorothy è il nome della band, che ruota attorno alla ottima voce di Dorothy Martin, 32enne già modella e attrice nata a Budapest ma di base a Los Angeles, California. I musicisti che la accompagnano sono un optional, infatti sono stati tutti sostituiti tra il primo disco Rockisdead (2016) e quello di cui stiamo parlando adesso. Dorothy, che appunto nel primo disco aveva scritto tutti i pezzi con l'allora chitarrista Mark Jackson e l'allora produttore Ian Scott, si è messa nelle mani sapienti di Linda Perry, insieme alla quale ha scritto questo disco (Linda ha pure prodotto, naturalmente). I live pare siano interessanti. Effettivamente, si nota una certa grinta e delle doti vocali (soprassedendo su quelle estetiche), seppure il genere sia un po' stereotipato: un hard rock blues del tutto classico, mai brutto, ma di certo non da ascolti ripetuti.
Dorothy is the name of the band, which revolves around the excellent voice of Dorothy Martin, 32 year old, model and actress born in Budapest but based in Los Angeles, California. The musicians that accompany her are an option, in fact all have been replaced between the first album Rockisdead (2016) and the one we are talking about now. Dorothy, who in the first album had written all the tracks with the then guitarist Mark Jackson and the then producer Ian Scott, has put herself in the wise and rock expert hands of Linda Perry, with whom she wrote this record (Linda has also produced, naturally). The live shows seems to be interesting. Indeed, we note a certain grit and vocal talents (let's go over the aesthetic ones), although the genre is a bit stereotypical: a hard rock blues completely classic, never ugly, but certainly not by repeated listening.
