Qualche cifra. Mindfucker è il decimo disco in studio per la band originaria del New Jersey. Come saprà chi li segue, l'unico sopravvissuto (e, nel suo caso, è proprio la parola giusta) della formazione originale è un'icona del rock psichedelico, un po' stoner un po' solo rock and roll, Dave Wyndorf, voce e chitarra occasionale, che alla veneranda età di, udite udite, 61 anni abbondanti, è ancora un simbolo per chi non si adatta alla dance o alla trap.
Le operazioni di remix/redux di due album tutto sommato recenti (Last Patrol 2013, Mastermind 2010), avvenute nel 2014 e nel 2015 (ne abbiamo parlato), quindi nell'intervallo tra il nono disco (appunto, Last Patrol) e questo decimo, sembra abbiano giovato alla creatività del combo statunitense, a dispetto dell'irrequietezza della formazione (continui cambi). Mindfucker è un disco dal timbro inconfondibile (impossibile confonderli con altre band), costruito da composizioni che potremmo definire classiche, un disco profondamente hard rock, seppure con quell'aura "spaziale" che li contraddistingue da sempre, un disco da suonare assolutamente a volume altissimo, che vi farà semplicemente godere. Sempre che non vi piaccia la dance, o la trap.
Some figures. Mindfucker is the tenth studio album for the original band from New Jersey. As will know who follows them, the only survivor (and, in his case, it is the right word) of the original line up, is an icon of psychedelic rock, a bit stoner a bit "it's only rock and roll", Dave Wyndorf, voice and occasional guitar, which at the ripe age of, hear hear, 61 years old, is still a symbol for those who do not adapt to dance music or trap music.
The remix / redux operations of two albums after all recent (Last Patrol 2013, Mastermind 2010), which took place in 2014 and 2015 (we talked about it), then in the interval between the ninth album (indeed, Last Patrol) and this tenth, seems to have benefited the creativity of the US combo, in spite of the restlessness of the line up (continuous changes). Mindfucker is a record with unmistakable timbre (impossible to confuse them with other bands), built by compositions that we could define classic, a deeply hard rock disc, albeit with that "space" aura that has always distinguished them, a record to be played absolutely loud, which will simply make you please. Unless, you like dance music, or trap music.
