Qualche mese prima dell'uscita, ormai avvenuta, del nuovo album dei norvegesi, è uscito questo EP, che potremmo definire didascalico, per me che non li conosco benissimo. La canzone che dà il titolo all'EP è il primo estratto del nuovo disco.
Dopo la title track, troviamo una versione live di Puritania (da Puritanical Euphoric Misantrophia, del 2001), e una serie di cover: Satan Is My Master (Bathory) e Burn In Hell (Twisted Sister), già presenti in un'edizione speciale di Death Cult Armageddon del 2003 (in realtà, la seconda era già nell'edizione giapponese di Puritanical), la mitica Perfect Strangers dei Deep Purple, già in un'edizione speciale di Abrahadabra (2010). Ci sono anche Spellbound (By the Devil) da Enthrone Darkness Triumphant del 1997, e The Heretic Hammer, da In Sorte Diaboli (2007).
Quindi, nessun inedito, ma una sorta di mini-raccolta di rarità e greatest hits. Sicuramente non per chi li conosce a menadito, ma devo ammettere che a me non è dispiaciuto.
A few months before the release of the new album from the Norwegians, this EP came out, which we could call didactic, for me that I do not know them very well. The song that gives the title to the EP is the first excerpt of the new album.
