Giovanissima (25 anni), nasce nel Bronx, New York, da genitori entrambi immigati (padre dominicano, madre trinidadiana), a 16 anni entra in una gang (i Bloods), frequenta una high school per aspiranti musicisti e attori, lavora in un supermarket e a 19 anni, diventa una stripper (a suo dire, per fuggire dalla povertà e dalla violenza domestica). Intorno ai 21 anni, diventa una celebrità grazie ad Instagram. Inizia a fare musica mentre è nel cast di un reality statunitense, collabora con rapper più famosi, fa uscire un paio di mixtape, è nominata nella categoria Best New Artist e Best Female Hip-Hop Artist ai BET Awards 2017 (ma non vince nessuna delle due). Sempre nel 2017 esce Bodak Yellow, contenuta anche in questo disco, che ottiene un grande riscontro, il che ha fatto crescere le aspettative per questo debutto.
Si dichiara femminista, a favore del controllo delle armi, e ha supportato sia Sanders che H. Clinton. I testi sono sboccati quanto basta, ma mai stupidi. Il suo flow è notevole, e lo stile molto eclettico, parte dall'Hip Hop ma copre molto altro, soprattutto Trap e musica latina. Il disco è eterogeneo, ma notevole.

She claims to be a feminist, in favor of guns control, and she has supported both Sanders and H. Clinton. The lyrics are foul-mouthed as necessary, but never stupid. Her flow is remarkable, and the very eclectic style, starts from Hip Hop but covers much more, especially Trap and Latin music. The album is heterogeneous, but notable.
