Dunque, mi accorgo giusto in questo momento che non mi sono accorto che, tra questo disco, di cui parliamo oggi, e il debutto della carinissima neozelandese, cantante e compositrice, Vows del 2011 (in effetti, sette anni tra un disco e l'altro sarebbero stati troppi), ne è uscito un altro, The Golden Echo nel 2014, che recupererò, e del quale vi parlerò nel caso fosse importante. Concentrandoci su questo Primal Heart, debbo dire che il disco mi ha colpito positivamente. La ragazza ha progredito lungo un cammino che lascia spazio ad una serie di influenze e che viene difficile da definire, seppur si possa dire che siamo dalle parti di un pop di classe, influenzato da jazz, elettronica, indie rock e R&B, ma perfino da un certo tipo di world music (magari sbaglio, ma mi sono trovato più volte a pensare ai lavori solisti di Peter Gabriel, quelli diciamo da So in poi), e sta sviluppando una discreta personalità. La voce, che dire, è un dono che ha avuto in quantità industriale, e ne sta facendo buon uso. Molte belle canzoni, un ascolto piacevole e interessante.
