Cantautrice faroese dalla lunga carriera, solista e no. Non l'avevo mai ascoltata, mi è capitato l'annuncio del nuovo disco, ho letto qualche commento entusiasta. Non vi fidate: nella musica di Tungl, c'è poco di quel mistero, di quella epicità nordica, che potrebbe farvi pensare alla magia dei Wardruna. La voce di Eivør Pálsdóttir è senza dubbio bella, le canzoni non sono brutte, anzi, alcune sono interessanti (la conclusiva Everyone But Me è la mia preferita), ma è un pop-ambient che non lascia il segno.

I hadn’t listened to her before; I stumbled upon an announcement for her new record and read a few enthusiastic comments. Don’t be fooled: there is little of that mystery or Nordic epic quality in Tungl’s music—the kind that might lead you to think of the magic of Wardruna. Eivør Pálsdóttir’s voice is undoubtedly beautiful, and the songs aren’t bad—in fact, some are quite interesting (the closing track, "Everyone But Me," is my favorite)—but it’s a brand of pop-ambient that fails to leave a lasting impression.
