No pain. The world is a wonderful whisper for those who can listen, if necessary in silence.

Il tramonto in noi

The Dusk In Us - Converge (2017)

Questo nuovo The Dusk In Us è il disco dove, liricamente, abbandonano il nichilismo per l'esistenzialismo. "And I won't sink with you. I have so much more to do" ("non voglio affondare con te.

Nothing to do. Ninth album, very high potential already demonstrated, the band from Massachusetts continues to mature, and scored a master stroke. This new "The Dusk In Us" is the disc where, lyrically, they abandon nihilism for existentialism. “And I won’t sink with you. I have so much more to do”, sings Jacob Bannon on "Arkhipov Calm". The metalcore, with the Converge, has always been to the nth degree, but here we are at the war machine level. It does not matter if they goes to a thousand per hour, or if, as happens more and more often, the rhythms are slowed down: the Converge have become masterful in both cases. Superb musicians, and with a portentous screamer (seeing him physically, you would not say that) like Bannon, they worked on all these years, delighting those who have ears to "endure" the noise with a purpose, honing the songwriting, mixing hardcore, crust and metal, never giving a step back. Now they can afford an intro as well as the one on the title track, and nobody can have anything to say. If it's not the definitive record, we're very close. And on "Trigger", one of the many unmissable songs on this record, they pay homage to the masters Slayer: have fun finding the quote.
