Kingdoms Disdained - Morbid Angel (2017)

Line-up completely revolutionized (back Steve Tucker, bass and vocals, brand new Scott Fuller on drums and Dan Vadim Von on the "secondary" guitar - you can not compete with Trey Azagthoth, now the only survivor of the long history of Morbid Angel), here is the ninth disc of the band of Tampa, Florida. Disc that "returns" in a certain way to classic death metal, which they put into practice among the first, along with the Cannibal Corpse, a record that certainly shows that, despite the 35 years of activity, despite the line-up changes, even in a genre like this one, experience and mastery can make the difference. Powerful album, with Trey's guitar that sound gigantic, both in rhythm and solos, together with the powerful voice of Tucker, again, pure power. Good performance of the new drummer, former Annihilated (curious note: he was born when the band was already in business, just before the legendary debut Altars of Madness came out), which also contributed to the songwriting in some songs.
Lyrics that, as the band members themselves have said, take inspiration from "social events that are occurring through time, repeatedly", always from a "third person" perspective, claiming to seek neutrality. But, reading some of them, one would not say; and I say it in a positive sense.
