Voce che indubbiamente richiama quella di Roy Orbison (ma potrebbero venirvene in mente altre), viene dal Canada, indossa una maschera da Lone Ranger con l'aggiunta di peneri che gli coprono così bocca e collo, suona un country velato di dark e post new wave, ed il suo debutto, Pony, è stato osannato da più parti come uno dei dischi più interessanti del 2019. Indubbiamente interessante, dodici tracce che, come detto prima, sono in bilico tra country e post new wave cantate da questa voce profonda e sensuale, il personaggio Orville Peck è ancora avvolto nel mistero (qualcuno, basandosi sui tatuaggi simili, ha provato a scommettere sia Daniel Pitout, batterista dei canadesi Nu Sensae), ma senza dubbio ha incuriosito molti amanti della musica, tanto da essere segnalato dal New Yorker come una delle sensazioni del 2019.
