Ed eccomi qua, finalmente direi, a parlarvi concretamente di una delle mie passioni, almeno a livello vocale. Céline Dion per me è più di un guilty pleasure, ammiro il suo lavoro e, naturalmente, la sua voce. Il disco in questione, uscito a metà novembre 2019, è già dal titolo una dichiarazione. E' infatti il primo disco dopo la morte di suo marito e compagno/collaboratore di una vita René Angélil, nonché dopo quella di uno dei suoi fratelli Daniel, ed una piccola operazione alle trombe d'eustachio: tutto questo si sente nei testi, di certo niente di particolarmente poetico, ma quanto basta per risultare d'effetto. Il disco in sé non contiene troppi potenziali singoli, seppure non si sia badato a spese per quanto riguarda le collaborazioni, soprattutto per quanto riguarda compositori e produttori (Sia, David Guetta, Greg Kurstin, Sam Smith, StarGate, Jimmy Napes, Lauv, LP, Jörgen Elofsson, Stephan Moccio, Eg White, Liz Rodrigues), ma personalmente, ho trovato due pezzi che soddisfano la mia necessità di Céline e della sua bravura: la stessa title track Courage, e For The Lover That I Lost, due tracce che mi riconciliano con un disco tutto sommato modesto.
And here I am, I would say finally, talking to you concretely about one of my passions, at least on a vocal level. Céline Dion for me is more than a guilty pleasure, I admire her work and, of course, her voice. The album in question, released in mid-November 2019, is already a declaration from the title. It is in fact the first album after the death of her husband and lifelong companion / collaborator René Angélil, as well as that of one of her brothers Daniel, and a small operation on the eustachian tubes: all of this can be heard in the lyrics, by certainly nothing particularly poetic, but enough to be effective. The disc itself does not contain too many potential singles, although no expense has been spared regarding collaborations, especially as regards composers and producers (Sia, David Guetta, Greg Kurstin, Sam Smith, StarGate, Jimmy Napes, Lauv, LP , Jörgen Elofsson, Stephan Moccio, Eg White, Liz Rodrigues), but personally, I found two tracks that satisfy my need for Céline and her skill: the same title track Courage, and For The Lover That I Lost, two tracks that they reconcile me with a fairly modest album.
