Sesto disco in studio per la band inglese, primo per me. Prima di mettermi all'ascolto, davvero non avevo idea del preciso orientamento della band, anche se un generico metalcore mi aveva attirato un minimo. Purtroppo, anche se leggo ovunque che la band ha modificato la propria attitudine, ed è cambiata in meglio, a me il loro suono appare ancora esageratamente pop, a tratti realmente insopportabile. C'è modo e modo di usare i synth, di inglobare la trap e l'hip hop dentro una struttura metalcore: non tutti sono i Bring Me the Horizon, per farla breve. Qualche buon momento, ma davvero niente di più: gran parte del disco è stucchevole.
Sixth studio album for the English band, first for me. Before I listened, I really had no idea of the precise orientation of the band, even if a generic metalcore had attracted me a minimum. Unfortunately, even if I read everywhere that the band has changed its attitude, and has changed for the better, their sound still seems overly pop to me, at times really unbearable. There is a way and a way to use synths, to incorporate trap and hip hop into a metalcore structure: not all of them are Bring Me the Horizon, in short. A few good moments, but really nothing more: most of the album is cloying.
