Quarto disco per Mackenzie Scott aka TORRES, disco sulla cui genesi, Pitchfork sottintende esserci la ricerca di un'audience più vasta, a causa del fallimento commerciale del disco precedente Three Futures, che ha causato pure la rottura con la sua vecchia etichetta. Può anche essere: quel che pare a me, è che il risultato, è quanto di più brillante si potesse aspettarci. Forse leggermente più "semplice" del suo predecessore, meno militante e più intimista, liriche comprese, il disco risulta davvero intenso e ti conquista al primo ascolto, per poi entrarti dentro con i seguenti. Un po' per il suo look tendente al cowboy, un po' per la sua gaytudine, mi è venuto da fare il paragone con Orville Peck, ma c'è da dire che forse TORRES è ancor più sperimentale, continuando a flirtare con la musica elettronica. Come che sia, davvero un buon disco.
