Una sorta, concedetemelo, di Peaky Blinders al femminile, un cast (dove troneggia un'attrice per me da sempre superlativa, Julianne Nicholson) che fornisce prove impressionanti, crudezza a volte sorprendente, un affresco storico dalle tinte scurissime che coinvolge e appassiona. Probabilmente non avrà un seguito, ma vi assicuro che è già molto.
Based on the lives of Kate Meyrick, Billie Carleton, and Edgar Manning, and the nonfiction book Dope Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground (1992) by Marek Kohn, it's one of those series that reminds us how the BBC is still capable of producing top-notch audiovisual products. A sort of female Peaky Blinders, if you'll allow me, a cast (led by an actress who has always been superlative in my opinion, Julianne Nicholson) that delivers impressive performances, a sometimes surprising rawness, a historical fresco with very dark hues that is engaging and enthralling. It probably won't have a sequel, but I assure you it's already a lot.
