Secondo capitolo dell'ultima saga allestita da Marilyn Manson aka Brian Warner e la sua band, che musicalmente, nel complesso, non dà risultati troppo diversi dal primo capitolo. Qualche buona canzone, un suono che oggi va benissimo anche per le radio, una produzione levigata e uno stile compositivo che ricorda costantemente quanto, attualmente, Tyler Bates incide quanto e forse di più di Manson stesso, e un atteggiamento che qualcuno considera fin troppo vittimista (in effetti, forse sarebbe il caso di volare un po' più bassi). Disco che raggiunge l'ampia sufficienza, che si ascolta piacevolmente, ma che non rimarrà nella storia.
This is the second chapter of the latest saga crafted by Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) and his band; musically, on the whole, it yields results not too different from the first installment. It features a few good songs, a sound that is perfectly radio-friendly these days, polished production, and a compositional style that constantly reminds us just how much influence Tyler Bates currently exerts—arguably even more than Manson himself. There is also an attitude that some might view as overly self-pitying (indeed, perhaps a bit more humility would be in order). It is a record that is solid enough to pass muster and makes for a pleasant listen, yet it is unlikely to go down in history.
