Sesto album, se contiamo Garbers Days Revisited (2020), come ricorderete un disco di cover, tornano i ragazzi di Richmond, Virginia, e rileggendo quanto vi dissi a proposito di Sulphur English, non mi stupisco né della iniziale difficoltà ad "entrare" nel disco, né del magma sonoro che sono riusciti a creare, anche stavolta. Gli Inter Arma, così come un manipolo di altre band afferenti al metal estremo, sono pionieri e sperimentatori di un angolo oscuro della musica estrema. Colpiscono i registri diversissimi raggiunti dal cantante Mike Paparo, da crooner a indemoniato, così come le capacità smisurate del batterista T.J. Childers, ma gli altri tre componenti non sono da meno. Ancora una volta, un disco colossale, che lascia il segno in questo 2024.
Sixth album, if we count Garbers Days Revisited (2020), as you will remember a covers album, the boys from Richmond, Virginia are back, and rereading what I told you about Sulfur English, I am not surprised nor by the initial difficulty in "entering" the album, nor the sonic magma they managed to create, this time too. Inter Arma, as well as a handful of other bands belonging to extreme metal, are pioneers and experimenters of a dark corner of extreme music. The very different registers achieved by singer Mike Paparo are striking, from crooner to possessed, as are the immense skills of drummer T.J. Childers, but the other three members are no amateurs. Once again, a colossal record, which leaves its mark in 2024.
