E l'anonimo nessuno

and the Anonymous Nobody...

As Nate Patrin says (more or less) on Pitchfork, if you are of those who like rap today, certainly with "and the Anonymous Nobody..." will not diminish the impression that these three are of middle-aged people who are trying to do rap. If you are among those of middle age, like me, who liked the rap until its inception, and you know what they represented the De La Soul for movement, you will certainly appreciate their return which was funded with a crowfounding on Kickstarter platform: the money raised has exceeded 5 times what they had set the three of Long Island, New York. Those like my nephew will still not understand, as long as the history of music will not uploaded on facebook (put it on a book would be easy, but they wouldn't read it), or better, on Youtube, read by Favij.
As it is, forced to this by their endless legal wrangling related to the use of sampling, the De La surround themselves with Jill Scott, Snoop, Roc Marciano, Estelle, Pete Rock, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness ("Lord Intended" is definitely the track which, to us rockers, will remain more impressed), David Byrne, Usher, Little Dragon, 2 Chainz, Damon Albarn and even David Goldblatt, to give life to a comeback. Refined album, fun, interesting, probably not gonna screw the rankings because of missing singles (although "Here in After" will be heard definitely), but it reminds us that the De La Soul still have something to say.
