Settimo disco per la band di Chapel Hill, North Carolina, band che io amo definire di burloni. Che dire, niente di nuovo. Hard blues di fattura che potremmo definire classica, che non esalta per l'originalità, ma che, come spesso si usa dire, può accompagnare piacevolmente un viaggio in auto. Sempre selvaggi, sempre molto precisi tecnicamente, a dispetto dell'aspetto sciatto e dello stile delle copertine, un po' così. Nonostante diano l'impressione di trasandatezza e voluta rozzezza, sono dei bravi ragazzi: pensate che nel 2008, il cantante Valient Himself (come forse saprete, o ricorderete, tutti gli altri membri, anche quelli del passato, hanno il nome d'arte con Thorr come cognome), ha donato uno dei suoi reni al padre diabetico. Il suo stile di canto mi ricorda spesso quello di Henry Rollins.
Seventh album for the band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, a band that I like to define as pranksters. What can I say, nothing new. Hard blues that could be called classic, that does not exalt in terms of originality, but, as often we say, can also pleasantly accompany a road trip. Always wild, always very precise technically, despite sloppy appearance and the style of the covers, a bit ugly. Despite they seems wants to give the impression of sloppiness and deliberate roughness, they are good guys: think that in 2008, the singer Valient Himself (as you may know, or remember, all the other members, even those of the past, takes the stage name with Thorr as a surname), donated one of his kidneys to the diabetic father. His vocal style remind me often the style of Henry Rollins.
