Non c'è niente da fare, artisti come questi, come Emma Ruth Rundle, si possono solo invidiare, di quell'invidia positiva, quella che ti porta magari a farti 1.200 chilometri per vederla in concerto (questa è l'intenzione). Proprio in preparazione di questa piccola impresa, ascoltando il repertorio disponibile come solista, oltre al meraviglioso Marked To Death potreste imbattervi in questo Some Heavy Ocean, del 2014, contenente anch'esso un manipolo di piccoli capolavori di scrittura musicale, quali Arms I Know So Well, Shadows of My Name, Haunted Houses e Run Forever, ed altri gioielli più oscuri quali ad esempio Living With the Black Dog. La voce, densa di favolose sfumature e al tempo stesso portatrice di un minimo di sofferenza esistenziale, gli arrangiamenti poco appariscenti ma al posto giusto nel momento giusto, le trame di chitarra di ottima fattura, e, scusate se mi ripeto, canzoni scritti in modo impeccabile. Non lasciatevela scappare, almeno come ascolto.

Just in preparation for this small achievement, listening to the repertoire available as a soloist, beyond the marvelous "Marked To Death", you might come across this "Some Heavy Ocean" of 2014, which as its following, contains a handful of small masterpieces of musical writing, such as "Arms I Know So Well", "Shadows of My Name", "Haunted Houses" and "Run Forever", and other obscure jewels such as "Living With the Black Dog". The voice, dense with fabulous shades and at the same time carrying a minimum of existential suffering, incospicuous arrangements, but in the right place at the right time, the good guitar plots, and, sorry if I repeat, songs written so flawless. Do not let it run away, at least as listening.
