Debbo confessarvi che mi fa una certa impressione parlarvi dei californiani Tesla nel 2019; formatisi nel 1981, debuttarono nel 1986 con lo splendido Mechanical Resonance, che credo di aver letteralmente consumato, così come il loro eccezionale doppio live acustico Five Man Acoustical Jam, che ricordo pure di aver regalato al mio primo insegnante di inglese, riscuotendo un gran successo. Nonostante tutti questi anni di militanza (con uno iato di sei anni tra il 1994 e il 2000), questo Shock è "solo" il loro ottavo album in studio, e posso assicurarvi che se amate il rock in tutte le sue sfaccettature, ma specialmente l'hard rock ed il blues, questo è un disco che amerete semplicemente ma profondamente. Se leggo che il cantante Jeff Keith ed il batterista Troy Luccketta hanno 60 anni, mi auguro solo di invecchiare come loro.
I must confess to you that it makes some impression to tell you about the Californians Tesla in 2019; formed in 1981, they debuted in 1986 with the splendid Mechanical Resonance, which I believe I literally consumed at that time, as well as their exceptional double acoustic live Five Man Acoustical Jam, which I also remember having given as a birthday present to my first English teacher, enjoying great success. Despite all these years of militancy (with a six-year hiatus between 1994 and 2000), this Shock is "only" their eighth studio album, and I can assure you that if you love rock in all its facets, but especially hard rock and blues, this is a record that you will love simply but deeply. If I read that singer Jeff Keith and drummer Troy Luccketta are 60 years old, I just hope to grow old like them.
