Debbie scopre che le donne sono pagate meno degli uomini e si lancia in una crociata per il trattamento equo. Lip continua a prendersi cura di Xan. Carl si mette a dura prova all'Accademia Militare, mentre Cassidi lo aspetta giusto lì fuori.
Stagione nove di Shameless US, che se non ricordo male, la rende automaticamente la serie più longeva di Showtime. Già un grandissimo successo, tanto per cominciare, e totalmente meritato. Eppure, questa stagione, noi appassionati, ce la siamo guardata tutta un poco tristi, perché quando stava per partire, Emmy Rossum (Fiona) ha dichiarato che questa sarebbe stata la sua ultima stagione. Peccato, certamente sarà una grossa perdita, ma come vi ho sempre detto, la ricchezza di Shameless è quella di un'infinità di personaggi degni di essere seguiti. A questo punto, voi mi chiederete: si ok, ma com'è stata questa stagione? Piacevole, come sempre, all'altezza, come sempre. Abbiamo avuto perfino un episodio (09*12, You'll Know the Bottom When You Hit It, che ho citato come titolo del post) diretto dalla coppia Shari Springer Berman e Robert Pulcini (American Splendor, The Nanny Diaries, The Extra Man, Cinema Verite, Girl Most Likely). E, grazie alla bravura degli sceneggiatori, l'addio finale di Fiona al resto dei Gallaghers diventa un'opportunità di ulteriore crescita per Lip, Carl, Debbie, Ian e Liam. Apparizioni speciali per Katey Sagal (è Ingrid) e Courteney Cox (Jen Wagner). Rinnovata per la decima stagione, che andrà in onda già prima della fine del 2019.
