Evidentemente impegnati a battere il ferro finché è caldo, i giovanissimi losangelini, a poco più di un anno di distanza dal loro debutto omonimo, escono già con il secondo album. Novità? Poche, ma la verve che li contraddistingue, la freschezza paradossale con la quale scopiazzano gli Stooges, condendoli con Guns 'N' Roses, Joan Jett, Ramones, è ancora lì. Mai troppo pesanti, mai troppo pop, ci regalano tredici tracce divertenti e rock, con quella sfrontatezza giovanile che sembra dire "ehi, abbiamo inventato il rock and roll". Sappiamo benissimo che non è così, ma chi se ne frega, in fondo.
Evidently committed to beating the iron while it's hot, the young LA band, just over a year after their eponymous debut, are already coming out with the second album. Any news? Few, but the verve that distinguishes them, the paradoxical freshness with which they plagiarize the Stooges, seasoning them with Guns 'N' Roses, Joan Jett, Ramones, is still there. Never too heavy, never too pop, they give us thirteen funny and rock tracks, with that youthful boldness that seems to say "hey, we invented rock and roll". We know it's not like this, but who cares, really.
