Eccoci al secondo album per la giovane australiana dal nome tutto italiano Carla dal Forno. Non mi pare ci si discosti granché dal suo debutto You Know What It's Like del 2016, come pure dal suo EP intermedio The Garden, del 2017: l'attitudine, ma solo quella, è post punk, laddove virava verso il dark, lo si evince dall'uso del basso, che fa da linea guida di tutte le sue composizioni, c'è un folk rarefatto e piegato verso una nuance goth, un songwriting sicuro e asciutto, un uso bizzarro dei rumori, una tavolozza ristretta ma curiosa di strumenti. Sicuramente, già al secondo disco, ha una riconoscibilità invidiabile. Non entusiasmante (per me), ma decisamente personale.
Here we are on the second album for the young Australian with an all-Italian name Carla dal Forno. I don't think there is much difference from her debut You Know What It's Like in 2016, as well as from her intermediate EP The Garden, in 2017: the attitude, but only that, is post punk, where it veered towards the dark, you can understand this from the use of bass guitar, which acts as a guideline for all her compositions, there is a rarefied and bent folk towards a goth nuance, a safe and dry songwriting, a bizarre use of noises, a narrow but curious palette of instruments. Surely, already on the second album, she has an enviable trademark. Not exciting (to me), but decidedly personal.
