Oggi 32enne, Michael Samuel Kiwanuka giunge, con questo album intitolato con il suo cognome, al suo terzo lavoro in studio. Ne avevamo parlato in occasione del suo secondo Love & Hate, del 2016, disco che gli ha portato notorietà internazionale, anche perché molte tracce di quel disco sono state saccheggiate da diverse serie televisive. Questo Kiwanuka conferma, né più né meno, quello che dissi in occasione del disco precedente: tracce ben scritte, gradevoli, delicate, influenze rock blues ed echi di surf rock moderno, ma davvero, niente di veramente impressionante. Non sono questi i dischi che amiamo alla follia.
Currently 32 years old, Michael Samuel Kiwanuka arrives, with this album entitled with his surname, at his third studio work. We had talked about him on the occasion of his second album Love & Hate, in 2016, a record that brought him international notoriety, also because many tracks on that record were looted from several television series. This Kiwanuka confirms, neither more nor less, what I said on the occasion of the previous album: well-written tracks, pleasing, delicate, blues-rock influences and echoes of modern surf rock, but really, nothing really impressive. These are not the records we love big time.
