Nonostante la grande stima che è cresciuta negli anni, da parte mia verso Alynda Segarra e la sua band, vi dirò subito che questo nuovo disco mi è piaciuto, ma non mi ha esaltato. Forse, come già espresso in occasione del precedente Life on Earth, a livello musicale si sono un po' normalizzati, tralasciando le varie e disparate influenze che avevano caratterizzato il loro suono nei dischi precedenti. Vorrei aggiungere due cose, forse non troppo importanti, ma come sapere, siamo qui fare delle chiacchiere, a dispetto del fatto che possano essere pregnanti o meno. A livello di liriche, Segarra scrive ancora canzoni che vale la pena di ascoltare, su questo non ci sono dubbi. A livello musicale, anche con una (come l'ho descritta io) normalizzazione del genere ma con una voce così, dovrebbero riscuotere maggior successo. E se devo dirvi perché non è così, beh, sono sicuro che ci siete già arrivati: semplicemente perché Alynda non rispetta i canoni estetici di oggi. Rifletteteci.

Despite the great respect that has grown over the years on my part towards Alynda Segarra and their band, I will tell you straight away that I liked this new album, but it didn't excite me. Perhaps, as already expressed on the occasion of the previous Life on Earth, on a musical level they have normalized a bit, leaving aside the various and disparate influences that had characterized their sound in previous records. I would like to add two things, perhaps not too important, but as you know, we are here to chat, regardless of whether they may be meaningful or not. Lyrically, Segarra still writes songs worth listening to, there's no doubt about that. On a musical level, even with a (as I described it) normalization of the genre but with a voice like this, they should be more successful. And if I have to tell you why this isn't the case, well, I'm sure you've already gotten there: simply because Alynda don't respect today's aesthetic standards. Think about it.
