Probabilmente lo saprete, ma Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, nome d'arte XXXTentacion, nato 20 anni fa a Plantation, Florida, da genitori giamaicani, è stato ucciso durante un'apparente rapina ai suoi danni, a colpi d'arma da fuoco, il 18 giugno 2018 a Deerfield Beach, Florida, tre mesi dopo l'uscita di questo che è il suo secondo disco. A parte l'impennata di vendite, ascolti e interesse, dovuta alla sua morte violenta, il personaggio era degno di nota, e il disco pure.
A sei anni tenta di accoltellare un uomo che stava attaccando la madre: entra in un programma giovanile, ed è costretto ad essere cresciuto dalla nonna. Divertitevi, si fa per dire, a leggera la sua biografia: pare che abbia vissuto più in carcere che fuori. Eppure, la sua musica è interessantissima, diversa da quella di altri rapper. C'è un po' di tutto, hip hop classico, trap, emo rap, ma pure metal e punk, sfumatissimi ma presenti. Melodia a pacchi, e l'ombra della depressione, con la quale ha lottato per la sua breve vita, molto presente. Collaborazioni anche sorprendenti (su Pain = Best Friend c'è Travis Barker dei Blink-182), ma il disco è davvero molto bello (Sad!, Numb, Changes, davvero intense) e, come detto, molto molto vario. Chissà dove sarebbe potuto arrivare.

Apart from the surge in sales, listening and interest, due to his violent death, the character was noteworthy, and the record as well.
At the age of six he tries to stab a man who was attacking his mother: he enters a youth program, and is forced to be raised by his grandmother. Have fun, so to speak, reading his biography: it seems that he lived more in prison than out. Yet, his music is very interesting, different from that of other rappers. There's a bit of everything, classic hip hop, trap, emo rap, but also metal and punk, very soft but present. A lot of melody, and the shadow of depression, with which he struggled for his short life, very present. Even surprising collaborations (on Pain = Best Friend there is Blink-182's Travis Barker), but the album is really beautiful (Sad!, Numb, Changes, really intense) and, as mentioned, very very varied. Who knows where he could have arrived?
