Nonostante il massimo rispetto che ho per l'artista, questo undicesimo disco di Sheryl Crow, composto tutto da duetti o comunque collaborazioni multiple (qui la lista delle tracce e degli ospiti, roba da far impallidire qualunque appassionato di musica), a mio modesto parere denota un inaridimento della vena compositiva, già rilevato pochi anni fa, veramente preoccupante, al punto da far pensare che, appunto, l'eccesso di collaborazioni sia un po' come il cosiddetto fumo negli occhi. Essendo anche un disco molto molto lungo (75 minuti), vi confesso che ho fatto moltissima fatica ad ascoltarlo per intero almeno un paio di volte, per una sorta di strana etica (che non posso definire professionale, essendo un amatore delle recensioni). Questo dovrebbe darvi un'idea piuttosto chiara del mio giudizio su Threads.
Despite the utmost respect I have for the artist, this eleventh album of Sheryl Crow, composed entirely of duets or at least multiple collaborations (here the list of tracks and guests, enough to embarrass any music fan), in my humble opinion denotes a drying up of the compositional vein, already noted a few years ago, really worrying, to the point of suggesting that, in fact, the excess of collaborations is a bit like the so-called smoke in the eyes. Being also a very long record (75 minutes), I confess that I had a lot of trouble listening to it in full at least a couple of times, for a sort of strange ethics (which I can't define professional, being an amateur of reviews). This should give you a pretty clear idea of my judgment on Threads.
