Intitolato come uno dei più grandi pittori e illustratori statunitensi (ma con quel "fuckin'" in mezzo, forse solo come rafforzativo), il sesto disco della 34enne newyorkese, adesso di base a LA, California, è prima di tutto bellissimo; dopo aver detto questo, la figura scelta per intitolarlo è sintomatica, un illustratore che è riuscito a dipingere l'essenza degli US. Delicatissimo per lunghi tratti, ma con liriche che possiamo definire senza dubbio poesie (già solo un titolo come Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have – but I Have It basterebbe), femminili e femministe, cantato da crooner al femminile e con un tessuto musicale che del pop non ha nulla. Non ve lo lasciate scappare, amanti della buona musica, perché questo è uno dei migliori dischi del 2019.

Delicate for long stretches, but with lyrics that undoubtedly we can label as poems (just a title like Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have It, could be enough), feminine and feminist, sung by a sort of a female crooner and with a musical tissue that has nothing to do with pop. Don't let it escape, lovers of good music, because this is one of the best records of 2019.
