L'ottavo disco in studio della band di Westfield, Massachusetts, considerata tra le prime band metalcore, è un lavoro onesto e più che apprezzabile da chi ama l'heavy metal da sempre. E', ovviamente, anche pieno di clichés, perché probabilmente, i Killswitch Engage non hanno interesse, capacità o voglia, di far progredire il genere. Certamente, non si può pretendere che ogni band, o che ogni musicista lo faccia: c'è abbastanza spazio anche per chi, avendo contribuito a rinnovare un genere che esiste dagli inizi degli anni '70, decide di rimanere dentro i parametri che ha contribuito a ridefinire.
The eighth studio album by the band from Westfield, Massachusetts, considered among the first metalcore bands, is an honest job and more than appreciable by those who love heavy metal since forever. It is, of course, also full of clichés, because probably the Killswitch Engage have no interest, capacity or desire, to renew the genre. Certainly, every band cannot be expected to do that, or that every musician does it: there is enough space even for those who, having contributed already to renewing a genre that has existed since the early 1970s, decide to stay within the parameters that contributed to redefine.
