Nono disco per la band svedese, prima volta che li ascolto per me. Curiosissimo il loro approccio: nei loro testi, parlano esclusivamente di guerre, battaglie storiche, atti di eroismo. Il sabaton in inglese altro non è se non la scarpa corazzata delle armature medievali. Questo disco è basato, a livello lirico, su storie inerenti la Prima Guerra Mondiale (l'ultimo brano, In Flanders Fields, è la messa in musica dell'omonimo poema scritto dal tenente colonnello nonché poeta canadese John McCrae), ed è uscito in ben quattro versioni diverse: quella standard, con i pezzi cantati, la history edition, che contiene una narrazione precedente ad ogni traccia (a cura di Bethan Dixon Bate), la soundtrack edition che contiene solo le versioni strumentali di ogni traccia, e la Sabaton History Patreon, che contiene la narrazione a cura di Indy Neidell. Detto tutto questo, il genere è un power metal che personalmente non sopporto, ma che a qualcuno potrebbe interessare.
Ninth record for the Swedish band, first time I listen to them for me. Their approach is very curious: in their lyrics, they speak exclusively of wars, historical battles, acts of heroism. sabaton in English is nothing but the armored shoe of medieval armor. This record is based, on a lyric level, on stories related to the World War I (the last track, In Flanders Fields, is the musical version of the eponymous poem written by Lieutenant Colonel and Canadian poet John McCrae), and was released in four different versions: the standard one, with the sung tracks, the history edition, which contains a narrative preceding each track (by Bethan Dixon Bate), the soundtrack edition that contains only the instrumental versions of each track, and the Sabaton History Patreon, which contains the narrative by Indy Neidell. Having said all this, the genre is a power metal that I personally can't stand, but that might be interesting to someone.
