Sono sommariamente d'accordo con la mia "bibbia" personale, Pitchfork, e Anna Gaca, che riassume tutto dicendo che con questo suo settimo disco, Taylor Swift è un po' più saggia e molto più innamorata. Ridendo e scherzando, come si dice da noi, vi ho parlato spesso di Swifty, sicuramente non un'artista che pratica il mio genere musicale preferito, ma che mi fa simpatia; questo nuovo Lover è decisamente più centrato del precedente Reputation, dove la quasi 30enne originaria di Reading, Pennsylvania, flirtava con quasi tutte le nuove tendenze musicali, risultando a tratti inconcludente. Qua, invece, sembra quasi che le nuove tendenze siano un po' scremate, e vengano messe a servizio del suo sapiente songwriting (intendiamoci, stiamo sempre parlando di pop, e di guilty pleasures), dando luce ad un lavoro, appunto, più convincente. Unico difetto, un po' troppo lungo. Concludo con un applauso per il suo scoperto anti-trumpismo, ed il suo attivismo pro-LGBTQ.
I agree with my personal "bible", Pitchfork, and Anna Gaca, which sums it all up by saying that on this seventh album, Taylor Swift is a little wiser and a lot more in love. Laughing and joking, as we say, I have often spoken to you about Swifty, certainly not an artist who practices my favorite musical genre, but that I like; this new Lover is definitely more centered than the previous Reputation, where the almost 30 year old girl from Reading, Pennsylvania, flirted with almost all the new musical trends, resulting at times inconclusive. Here, instead, it seems that the new trends are a bit skimmed, and are put at the service of her wise songwriting (mind you, we are always talking about pop, and guilty pleasures), giving light to a work, in fact, more convincing . Only flaw, a little too long. I conclude with a round of applause for her overt anti-trumpism and her pro-LGBTQ activism.
