Il sesto disco per la band di Des Moines, Iowa, una band dalla storia piena di pause e di cambi di formazione, non è affatto male, se consideriamo che ormai, le band che hanno rappresentato il cosiddetto nu metal, sono tutte più o meno bollite o morte. E' vero, ha ragione l'amico Beach quando dice che il suono della batteria, e più precisamente della grancassa, è decisamente fastidioso e suona molto "vecchio", in questa epoca di cambiamenti rapidissimi (ne riparleremo in occasione della recensione del nuovo Tool...), ma nel complesso gli Slipknot hanno saputo creare un suono e adottare una forma-canzone che può resistere abbastanza bene allo scorrere del tempo. Ci sono alcuni picchi e qualche scivolone, ma come detto, nel complesso riescono a risultare ascoltabili anche nel 2019. Non è poco, e non dimentichiamoci che i musicisti sono pur sempre molto validi.

It is true, the friend Beach is right when he says that the sound of the drums, and more precisely of the bass drum, is decidedly annoying and sounds very "old", in this age of very rapid changes (we'll talk again about this subject when we review the new Tool album...), but overall the Slipknot have been able to create a sound and adopt a song form that can withstand the flow of time quite well. There are some peaks and some slips, but as I said, on the whole they can be listened to even in 2019. It's not a bad thing, and let's not forget that musicians are still very good.
