I Rudimental sono una band/collettivo inglese di Hackney (quartiere della Greater London), UK, qui al loro terzo disco; la band contamina il pop con la drum and bass e la jungle, il soul pop e l'elettronica, ricordandosi ogni tanto, che esiste anche il reggae. Il disco è un susseguirsi di collaborazioni (Shungudzo, Protoje, Hak Baker, Major Lazer, Anne-Marie, Mr Eazi, Jess Glynne, Chronixx, Tom Walker, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Macklemore, Dan Caplen, James Arthur, Raye, Maleek Berry, Raphaella, Maverick Sabre, Kojey Radical, Kanaka Pyramid, Ray BLK, Steffion Don, Rita Ora, Yebba, Kevin Garrett, Eli Ingram, Olivia Dean), ecco perché li definisco anche un collettivo, è tutto sommato piacevole, ma abbastanza prevedibile, escluso per un paio di pezzi iniziali, maggiormente spruzzati di reggae: il mio preferito è infatti Let Me Live, con Anne-Marie e Mr Eazi. Il crossover di questo tipo, come altri, non è facile, e spesso necessita di parecchi tentativi per arrivare ad una giusta miscelazione.
The Rudimental are an English band/collective of Hackney (Greater London), UK, here on their third album; the band contaminates pop with drum and bass and jungle music, soul pop and electronic, remembering every now and then, that there is also reggae. The record is a succession of collaborations (Shungudzo, Protoje, Hak Baker, Major Lazer, Anne-Marie, Mr Eazi, Jess Glynne, Chronixx, Tom Walker, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Macklemore, Dan Caplen, James Arthur, Raye, Maleek Berry, Raphaella, Maverick Saber, Kojey Radical, Kanaka Pyramid, Ray BLK, Steffion Don, Rita Ora, Yebba, Kevin Garrett, Eli Ingram, Olivia Dean), that's why I also call them a collective, all in all pleasant, but quite predictable, excluded for a couple of initial tracks, mostly sprayed with reggae: my favorite is in fact Let Me Live, with Anne-Marie and Mr Eazi. The crossover of this type, like others, is not easy, and often requires several attempts to arrive at a right mix.
