Disharmonium – Undreamable Abysses - Blut aus Nord (2022)
Sarà perché stavolta ero più preparato, avendo ascoltato il precedente Hallucinogen e perfino il debutto solista di Vindsval, loro chitarrista e cantante, oltre che membro fondatore e, al momento, sempre presente, il quattordicesimo album della band francese non mi ha sorpreso, anzi, mi è piaciuto fin dal primo ascolto, travolgendomi con la sua potenza e visionarietà epica. Molti, per descriverlo, usano paragoni letterari e cinematografici: è vero, c'è tanta teatralità (già detto in precedenza), questo disco fonde black metal, industrial, blackgaze, progressive, letteratura horror, atmosfere gotiche di grande respiro insieme a ritmiche martellanti. Un viaggio oscuro.
Maybe because this time I was more prepared, having listened to the previous Hallucinogen and even the solo debut of Vindsval, their guitarist and singer, as well as a founding member and, at the moment, always present, the fourteenth album of the French band did not surprise me, on the contrary, I liked it from the first listen, overwhelming me with its power and epic visionary. Many, to describe it, use literary and cinematographic comparisons: it is true, there is a lot of theatricality (already mentioned), this record blends black metal, industrial, blackgaze, progressive, horror literature, gothic atmospheres of great breath together with pounding rhythms. A dark journey.
